Best known on the south coast as the manic drummer of garage-psych outfit Strange Cages (and more recently Jealous Nostril), ELLiS·D leaps between psychedelic jangle, disco-infused krautrock and taut post-punk attack, the frenzied energy found in the drummer-turned-frontman’s live performances mirrors the tongue-in-cheek, post-2016 nervous hysteria that run through his lyrics.
