The Cambridge Philharmonic, founded in 1887, is one of Britain’s oldest and most distinguished music societies. It comprises both a full symphony orchestra and large chorus, allowing the staging of substantial works such as Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring and Mahler’s 8th Symphony in venues such as King’s College Chapel and Ely Cathedral.
