The Crux was founded in 2009 by heavy metal brothers James Boyd and Neil Ward, hailing from the small town Dromore, County Down, Northern Ireland. Bound by their love for metal, the brothers formed the band at the ripe age of 18, (known as WARCRUX then) needing the quench their thirst for heavy riffs.
