Grieg’s youthful and exuberant Piano Concerto is the centrepiece of this concert, which ends with Sibelius’s Second Symphony. Amiable and warm music, it feels like good company from the start. Later on there are gorgeous, expansive musical vistas to be had and Sibelius ratchets up the drama as the piece goes on, ending in blaze of glory and triumph.
